A Mind-Bending Tour of Universe Size Comparisons

February 5, 2024 (2 years ago)

About this video

Beneath the cosmic tapestry, our world is a pixel of life, a microscopic chapter in the epic novel of the universe. It’s nerve-wracking to think how the magnitude of our ego diminishes to insignificance, akin to a mere whisper in the cosmic symphony of space and time. Since you loved the previous Universe Size Comparison video, we decided to do a better one by comparing more celestial bodies and enhancing the visual and auditory experience. We have added 6 more moons, one star, one black hole, and 20 Nebulas. Inside the NGC 1277 black hole, you can see Neptune’s orbit to have a better understanding of the scales. Our favorite celestial body is by far the exoplanet J1407b with its rings diameter bigger than some stars. Note that for the exoplanets we used maps composed by NASA Artists considering that these exoplanets were never photographed. In the case of J1407b it’s a known fact that the diameter of it’s rings is 180 million km. The same goes for the black holes. We created them based on the most recent visualizations of black holes on the science community. For the Nebulas we used real telescopic photographs. The Engraved Hourglass Nebula is our favorite Nebula. It looks like it's staring at you. Our next challenge in this series is to add the galaxies in the video.
