Equatorial Speed of each Planet

May 7, 2024 (1 year ago)

About this video

How fast would you be whizzing by on the equator of each planet? Mercury, closest to the sun, would have you clinging on tight for dear life. Jupiter, a swirling gas giant, would propel you at a breakneck pace. As you travel outward, things slow down – but not always as you might expect. Uranus and Neptune, tilted on their sides, might surprise you with their unexpectedly speedy equatorial spins. Will Saturn's majestic rings create a drag, or will it keep pace with its larger neighbor Jupiter? Our own Earth falls somewhere in the middle, but where it ranks amongst the planetary speed demons is a question this video will answer!
