There is a lot of us that share this planet together, thus Earth is a complicated place. Sometimes it is too difficult to understand who everybody is, what they believe or how they live.
To understand things a little better, we will shrink the entire world population from 7.5 billion people, all the way down to just 100 people.
We will try to display our minimized society as realistically as possible.
Dividing between gender, the one hundred-person world would be equally divided between fifty men and fifty women.
Most of these people would live in Asia, a total of 59 people compared to sixteen people living in Africa, ten living in Europe, eight in North America, only six in South America and one, lonely person living in Australia.
Nineteen of these people would be Chinese citizens, and another eighteen would be Indians.
There would be only 4 Americans, 3 Brazilians, 2 Russians, and one German.
The other 53 people would be citizens of 187 other countries around the world.
Most of these people would be pretty young, with 58 people being younger than 35 years old.
Religiously speaking, 31 people would adhere to Christianity, 23 would be Muslims, 15 Hindus and 7 Buddhists. 9 would follow other religions and 15 people would be atheists.
Mandarin would be the most understood language, with 14 people understanding it, leaving English not far behind, with 13 people understanding it, 9 understand Hindustani, 8 people Spanish and five understanding Arabic, with the other 51 people understanding over 7000 other languages.
86 people would be able to read and write, whereas 14 would be illiterate.
92 people would have access to clean drinking water, whereas 8 would struggle for access to it.
62 people would be healthy in their weight, whereas 11 would be malnourished and 1 person literally starving. The other 26 people would be overweight, with 8 of them being obese.
58 of these people would be married, whereas 42 would not be. The average age for marriage would be 29 for women and 32 for men.
Most people would own a mobile phone, 80 people would be in possession of one, while 20 would not. However, only 42 of these people would have internet access, whereas 58 of them would not.
But perhaps the most shocking difference would be the distribution of wealth among these 100 people. So, let’s break it down! 71 people have a networth under $10,000, with 12 people living on less than $2 per day.
21 people have a networth between $10,000 and $100.000 and 7 people have a networth between $100k and $1million. There is only one person who actually has a networth of above $1 million. This way, this one person owns more than 50% of all the money in the world.
There is one thing that all the 100 people have in common, they are all citizens of Earth. But who knows how these data will change in a few years!
